Installation Options

ICE-AWAY de-icers should be installed ahead of the freezing season mainly to observe the movement and direction of the water flow from the device.

At this point it should be pointed out that it is much easier to reposition a deicing device that is light weight and easily moveable.

It is encouraged that a prospective user should shy away from fixed position devices that are intended to be attached to a dock or pier simply because of the inconvenience of moving a fixed device if necessary during extremely uncomfortable conditions.

In order to achieve “simple” installation ICE-AWAY has developed a suspension systems that literally permit the installation of an ice melting device by slinging the unit from the dock, vessel or flotation platform by the means of a simple rope configured in a “V” configuration to absorb the torque generated by the operating motor and revolving propeller to minimize if not eliminate the possibility of the deicing unit to twist the power cord around there by damaging the unit.

The examples below are provided as a guide to understand the simplicity of installation of the ICE-AWAY deicer.
